Description
Summary:A short-term toxicity test was conducted to determine the mortality rate of Ampullaria luzonica. Three replicates were done for each concentration. 96-hr LC50 value of vadmium to Ampullaeia luzonica was also determined. Generally, it was observed that mortality of Ampullaria luzonica increased as the concentration of cadmium increased. The control showed 7.78 percent mortality. At 2.0 mg/l, it was observed to have a 17.78 percent mortality. 27.78 percent mortality was observed at 2.5 mg/l. While those snails exposed to 3.0 mg/l obtained a 35.56 percent mortality. At 3.5 mg/l, 50 percent mortality was observed. And at .0 mg/l, it was observed to have a 71.13 percent mortality. Estimates of 96-r LC50 values were generated from the mortality data. LC50 value computed using the linear regression methods was 3.526 mg/liter.
