Description
Summary:Several carbon and nitrogen sources were used in the lipase production medium (LPM) for the production of extracellular lipase from Aspergillus foetidus AVOR 001. This selection of appropriate carbon and nitrogen sources for lipase production is useful in optimizing the yield of this enzyme which is of importance in biotechnology and medicine.Lipase activity, measured on the third day of fermentation, showed that among the carbon sources tested, maltose gave the highest yield of lipase (3.25 umol/ml/min) under unoptimized conditions (reaction mixture, pH 7.0). Peptone as a nitrogen source gave the best amount of lipase produced (10.21 umol/ml/min) under the optimized assay conditions (reaction mixture pH 4.6).
