Toxicity of glacial acetic acid to Ampullaria luzonica

Acute toxicity tests were done using Ampullaria luzonica as test organism. The snails were exposed to different concentrations of glacial acetic acid to determine the mortality rate and the median lethal concentration (LC50) at 96 hour.It was generally observed that there is a direct relationship be...

Acute toxicity tests were done using Ampullaria luzonica as test organism. The snails were exposed to different concentrations of glacial acetic acid to determine the mortality rate and the median lethal concentration (LC50) at 96 hour.It was generally observed that there is a direct relationship between the percent mortality of Ampullaria luzonica and there concentration of glacial acetic acid. At 1000 mg/L, the mortality rate was 47.8 percent and 57.8 percent at 1250 mg/L. 63.3 percent, 77.8 percent and 87.8 percent mortality rates were observed at concentrations 1500mg/L, 1750 mg/L and 2000 mg/L respectively. Based on the results gathered in the experimental proper, the estimated median lethal concentration (LC50) was computed using the linear regression method in the Lotus 1-2-3 program. The estimated value of the LC50 was computed to be at 1117.66 mg/L. 1995-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/1285 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Acetic acid Snails Toxicity testing
