Effects of the medicinal plant makabuhay Tinosphora rumphii Boerl. extract on human lymphocytes, in-vitro

Makabuhay Tinosphora rumphii Boerl extracts were derived through decoction methods and thoroughly filtered. The lymphocytes were isolated from the blood through centrifugation methods. The isolated lymphocytes were cultured and treated with mitogen and different concentrations of the extract at 0.28...

The lymphocytes were isolated from the blood through centrifugation methods. The isolated lymphocytes were cultured and treated with mitogen and different concentrations of the extract at 0.28 g/ml and 0.07 g/ml. After 72 hours of incubation, the lymphocyte culture was harvested and counted in terms of live, dead and percent cell viability. The experimental group exhibited a mean cell count and percent viability lower than the positive and negative controls, thus, suggesting that the makabuhay extract at the said concentrations did not exert a proliferative effect, but rather an inhibitory effect on human lymphocytes in-vitro. 1995-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/1331 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Medicinal plants Extract Plants Useful Antibacterial agents Ornamental climbing plants Lymphocytes
