One hundred fifty fecal samples obtained from respondents ages 1 to 15 years old in Barangay Tarcan Baliwag, Bulacan were examined for intestinal helminthic parasites. Fecal samples were collected from September to December, 1995. Using Direct Fecal Smear technique, only Ascaris and Trichuris eggs were noted. One hundred thirty (86.66) respondents were positive for Ascaris lumbricoides, 62 (87.32) and 68 (86.08) of those were from male and female respondents, respectively. Trichuris trichiura infection was recorded in seventy-one respondents (47.33), 35 (49.30) and 36 (45.57) of those were from male and female respondents, respectively. Mixed infections of Ascaris and Trichuris were noted in 65 respondents (43.33), consisting of 32 males (45.07) and 33 females (41.77). No significant difference was noted with infection among sexes. Respondents age groups 7-9 and 10-12 years old had 100 infection with Ascaris. Highest infection rate for Trichuris was 69.57 for age group 10-12 years old. Based on the queries obtained, respondents of family size 3 (66.66), 4 (84.00), 5 (89.47), and 6 (97.14) had lower infection rates compared to those of family size 7-11 at 100.
