Genotoxic effects of cypermethrin on Allium cepa L. (onion)

Allium cepa were grown in water containing various concentrations of cypermethrin, a common insecticide. The concentration used were 0.0305, 0.1221, 0.4883, 1.953 and 7.813 mg/L. The effects of the various concentrations of cypermethrin on root growth, root morphology, cell division and chromosome m...

The effects of the various concentrations of cypermethrin on root growth, root morphology, cell division and chromosome morphology of Allium cepa were studied. Results showed that cypermethrin inhibit root growth and cell division and cause swelling and turgescence of root tips in high concentrations. Mitotic irregularities including c-mitosis, precocious chromosomes, disoriented chromosomes, chromosome bridges and stickiness were observed in treated bulbs. Oblique metaphases and anaphases were also noted. 1996-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/1354 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Insecticides--Toxicology Plants Effect of insecticides on Onions Genetic toxicology Pesticides
