Summary: | Asteroids were collected in the intertidal areas of Tayabas Bay, Calubcob, San Juan, Batangas from June to October, 1995. Identification of the collected asteroids were done using key to identification by Domantay, 1967 and de Celis 1981. A total of seven species were collected, identified and classified under Order Phanerozonida. Out of the seven species collected, one species belong to Family Archasteridae, which is Archaster angulatus, three species to Family Linckiidae namely: Linckia guildingii, Linckia laevigata and Nardoa tuberculata and also three species belong to Family Oreasteridae which are as follows: Pentaceropsis tyloderma, Protoreaster alveolatus and Protoreaster nodosus. |
