Summary: | The study was conducted to determine the effects of Neem seed kernel extract (NSKE) on the growth of four test microorganisms namely, Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Salmonella typhi and Candida albicans. The procedure made use of the modified Kirby-Bauer agar disc diffusion technique. Results showed that 30 percent, 60 percent and 100 percent NSKE concentration were effective in inhibiting the growth of Staphylococcus aureus and Candida albicans whereas the growth of Salmonella typhi and Pseudomonas aeruginosa were not inhibited by the NSKE at any given concentration. |
