Summary: | This paper is a post colonial study of Jose Y. Dalisay's Killing time in a warm place in the context of a post colonial world with emphasis on the representation of the migrant. The paper uses Aijaz Ahmad's post colonial framework as he applied it to Salman Rushdie's Shame. The paper focuses on the description and analysis of Noel Bulaong's-the main character -life journey. It also shows the ideologies that are involved in every phase of his life and how this ideology is changed as he moves on to a different place. This paper finds out that migrancy for someone who is coming from a post colonial world makes it hard for a person to continue holding on to his/her old principles because of the influences brought to him by a new surrounding. This is because the conciousness that is brought about by the colonizers is strengthened. |
