Women With Wings is a photoessay on the first batch of lady cadets currently being trained by the Philippine Air Force Flying School. The photoessay consists of 21 enlarged photographs. The proponent made use of 8 X 10 glossy paper with F3 grade in order to further her style of having sharp and high contrast prints. The proponent used the horizontal format to show more space and width. To minimize cropping, the proponent reduced the enlargements vertically to make them more proportional to the negatives. The proponent used 2 film speeds in making her photoessay. For indoor shots, the proponent used ISO 400 film for faster shutter speed. ISO 100 film was used for the outdoor shots. The theme of the photoessay is on the first batch of lady cadets of the Philippine Air Force Flying School who have broken from the sex role stereotype by undergoing pilot-officer training. The proponent chose to portray the different aspects of training and to show the lady cadets with their male counterparts in order to present these women as able and worthy aviation cadets. 1995-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/1494 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Women and the military Military education Occupational training Military Documentary photography Photographic interpretation (Military science)
