In the human being's view that romantic love is the answer to his alienation, the term love became an intangible mess because of the meaning and significance humans gave it. This thesis explores the history of love how love was first regarded as a spiritual route towards enlightenment, into a sickness or madness, into a shallow game or sport, and into the one true meaning in life. This thesis also analyzes on how myths and stories about tragic star-crossed lovers contribute to the misconceptions of love. It also explores how love is commonly seen as all good, is not, and explores the dark dimension of love, how love is often connected to suffering, death and imagination. It also discusses how romantic love, seen as an alternative of religion, as a cult, is only a temporary escape from alienation. 1998-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/1623 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Elegiac poetry Laments Alienation (Philosophy) Literature--Philosophy Love Mythology Man Philosophical theology |
