Cua, Brian This study is concerned with the production of Stock No. 78 (High Back Dining Chair) in the production department of Jowbi Wood Products Mfg. Inc. The problem being addressed is the 12.40% late production of dining chairs. It is a serious and urgent problem because it costs the company P 19,025.83 per year. The system management and these writers believe that they have sufficient time and resources to solve this problem. The problem has the following specifications: What: An average of 12.40% of orders for dining chairs is produced late. Where: The milling section of the production department When: From 1995 to 1997 How: Orders are delivered late to the customers if they are produced late. How much: The system experiences an average of 1 day of late production with a penalty cost of 5% per day late. After the analysis of the possible causes that contribute to the production delay, it was found that the main cause of the problem was due to the system's inappropriate production scheduling. To solve this cause, the writers of this study proposed a production scheduling policy. With this, the company would be able to see whether or not the production department could still finish incoming job orders in a given specified due dates by the customer. In addition to that, the writers also introduced a quota form to determine the level of production for a specified day. This provides a summary of the activities of all the actual quantity output of the production process. Lastly, a production planning and control board would help in the monitoring of the daily production from each section. This contains weekly production schedule report that is translated in order to know which are on schedule for that week. This will also serve as a guide for the workers on the quantity they are required to produce on a specified time. The implementation of the proposal would eliminate the delays the system is presently experiencing and consequently, the cost incurred by the company would be eliminated as well. 1998-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/1641 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository
