CHA/SE Logistics has been offering warehouse services to Johnson & Johnson's since November of 1993. However, in the early months of 1998, Johnson & Johnson's has expressed its interest in the conception of a Total Distribution Center (TDC). This total distribution task will be awarded to anyone who could cut the best deal. The operations of CHA/SE are dependent on the outcome of this bidding. Using systems analysis and design procedures, the specification of the TDC was developed. Different alternatives were scrutinized using this specification, and a best alternative was selected. It is suggested that the current location of the company be retained, and only a few physical changes be done. Through the services of truckers and freighters, maintenance and availability of transportation will not be much of a problem. This study contains critical analysis that leads to a suitable setup of the total distribution center. A net present value of Php 11,276,478 will be earned in addition to the current income of the company in a span of three years. This translates to about 50% of the additional expenses incurred to accommodate the total distribution function. 1999-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/1650 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository |
