Summary: | Leaf explants of Mussaenda Dona Luz were inoculated in Murashige and Skoog medium (MS). The experiment involved ten treatments of the MS medium with the combination of growth hormones Benzylaminopurine(BA) and N6-Napthalene acetic (NAA). The treatments used were (1) MS only which serves as the control, (2) MS with 2.5 M BA only, (3) MS with 5.0 M BA only, (4) MS with 7.5 M BA (5) MS with 10.0 M BA, (6) MS with 2.5 M BA and 1.00 M NAA, (7) MS with 5.0 M BA and 1.00 M NAA, (8) MS with 7.5 M BA and 1.00 M NAA, (9) MS with 10.0 M BA and 1.00 M NAA and (10) MS with 20.0 M BA. Treatments one and ten produced no callus while the treatments four and five produced excellent callus for treatments with single growth hormones. The treatments with a combination of growth hormones all produced callus, which were best exhibited in treatments six, seven and nine. Callus formation was observed on the 25th day since inoculation |
