Summary: | This study aims to give a detailed account of the experiences, perceptions, and beliefs of Multiple Low Status Individuals (MLSi). The design used is descriptive and the method to gather the necessary data is in depth-interviewing. A guide was formed to explicitly get the data about these unique individuals. Three females and three males are selected as respondent's for the study, and this was done through purposive sampling and chain referral . The data were analyzed by individually studying and assessing each case. The general result of the study showed the great impact societal stereotyping and labeling has on an individual. Where it triggered the development of a low self-esteem for the MLS individual thus, creating negative perceptions about his self and his environment. |
