Cruz, Rosalynn Anne F. Abstract. The distinction between approach and avoidance goals was discussed and emphasized. Personal Strivings Assessment (Emmons, 1991) was adopted to examine relations between participants' appraisals of their life skill and competencies, global self-perceptions (self-esteem), and general outcome expectancies (pessimism) and their personal strivings. It was also used to look into relations between personal goals and subjective well-being. Five instruments were used in the study. Data were generated through the use of the questionnaires based on a non-probabilistic sample of middle-aged women population in Metro Manila. Results highlight the need to attend to approach, as well as avoidance, forms of self-regulation. Significant relationships were revealed between paired variables. 1999-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/1706 Bachelor's Theses Animo Repository
