This thesis aims to discuss Christmas in the Philippines as simulated in Filipino children's literature using Jean Baudrillard's theory on simulacra. It will tackle and explain the different levels of simulation and how these levels are demonstrated through the children's book the Christmas fireflies by Girl Valencia and 12 kwentong Pasko by Rene Villanueva. This thesis also serves as a social commentary on consumer culture found in the Philippines with applications of Baudrillard's assumptions.
