Summary:This thesis aims to affirm the significance of Piracy in the daily lives of the Filipinos and how it can be understand using philosophical thoughts of the postmodern thinker, Jean Baudrillard. This was explained using the Theory of Simulacra and Theory of Hyperreality. The sub-problems of this thesis which associates piracy as the jologs way of adapting to the postmodern changes and the question what is the current trend of piracy in the Philippines was answered using the Theory of hyperreality and the sub topic of prestige symbol and the stages of Simulacra. With these answered, It can be then concluded that piracy is really growing economy in the Philippines and because of piracy, there are really great effects on our way of living as Filipinos. Piracy is hard to define where it really belong to the bad or good effects of technology for it provides a wide range of effects, good and bad to people who uses piracy.
