Janina Rosario This study examined how single motherhood impacts the early pregnancy of the daughter. A qualitative research design was employed in this study using content analysis. The researchers gathered data from 15 young Filipino mothers who have experienced pregnancy at the age of 15 to 19 years and who grew up with a single mother. The semi-structured interviews focused on the experiences of growing up with a single mother and the experiences of teenage pregnancy. Results have shown that poor parent-child relationship, which is connected to lack of parental supervision and also escapism, which is linked to being active in their social life due to the stresses that was brought about by the home situation, were the two catalysts of teenage pregnancy. In addition, results have also shown that none of the women who experienced teenage pregnancy married the fathers of their children nor were planning to marry them in the future. So, a life cycle of single motherhood may be indeed possible. 2008-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/2238 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Psychology
