Description
Summary:The theme that shall encompass my collection of short stories will be innocence. I believe innocence can be shown in multiple aspects, whether it be the gradual absence of it as we come of age, the struggle of retaining it while living in a world that in a way calls for us to outgrow it, the pure innocence found in children or people who are diagnosed with mental disorders (such as down syndrome), the vulnerably of being too innocent, or the perspective of viewing it as merely an idea which becomes conceived due to the reason of our present and uneventful lives. Speaking of the latter, innocence then is not experienced, since we are all too ignorant of it during the said period of one's life when it is supposed to be present, which is during childhood. A child would not state the reason of his or her childlike nature as: because I am innocent! Therefore, it is more of an idea of nostalgia, an escape from responsibility or boredom. Also, it can be born out of regret, or an idea that sparks off vengeance if ever it was stripped away at an early age.
