Summary:This is a study on selected picture books from the Adarna House Collection of Children's Literature using the theoretical frameworks from Eleonor Dionisio's Sex and Gender, and Carolyn Medel- Anonuevo's Ideology and Cultural Practice. The identification of female roles in the picture books are done through the analysis of the various elements of a picture book: the text, the illustrations, and the setting. This study explains and identifies the images of the Filipino woman shown in local children's picture books.
