Erikson wrote that the onset of the identity crisis is normally in the teenage years, and only individuals who succeed in resolving the crisis will be ready to face challenges in life. The identity crisis may however be recurring, as the changing world demands people to constantly redefine themselves. Identity crisis may also well occur in adults. Erikson suggested that people experience an identity crisis when they lose a sense of personal sameness and historical continuity . Given today's rapid development in technology, global economy, dynamics in local and world politics, identity crises are expected to be more common now than 30 years ago, when Erikson formed his theory. (http://psychology.about.com/library/weekly/aa101500a.htm) Erik Erikson believes that the identity crisis is the most important conflict human beings encounter whe they go through eight developmental stages in life: Infant, Toddler, Preschooler, School-age, Adolescene, Young adult, Middle adult and Old Adult. Identity was defined as a subjective sense as well as an observable quality of personal sameness and continuity, paired with some belief in the sameness and continuity of some shared world image. The search for identity is one that everyone can identify with. This project presents a photo essay which is a depiction of people are going through a period in their lives when they question their selves. Pictures of many different subjects seemingly showing different emotions or behavior that would insinuate some emotions or thoughts on the search or questioning of one's identity, were taken to capture different images reflecting identity crisis. The photo shows the different aspects of introspection in visual art form, aimed toward the understanding and learning of identity crisis. The project's goal is that through the photos, people could relate themselves with the images depicting identity crisis. These images will make individuals even more aware of the reality of identity, and that it is an experience which could be common to anyone, and thus should be faced and dealth with accordingly. 2007-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/2290 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Identity (Psychology) Image processing Image analysis Identification Communication
