Description
Summary:This thesis explores the marginalization of Filipina housewives in the Story Collection of Gilda Cordero-Fernano. The theoretical framework for this study is Julia Kristeva's theory of marginality, subversion, and dissidence. By identifying the marginality of the female protagonists, the readers can see how subversion is possible and how effectively dissidence is achieved by them. This study includes four stories namely, Level of Each Day's Need , Dust Monster , Cake Left Out of the Ruin , and Magnanimity .
