Description
Summary:This thesis focuses on the ethical dilemmas that athletes face when it comes to professional sports and PED (Performance Enhancing Drugs). In some cases we can see how beneficial PED may be for athletes with regard to recovery. In the case of enhancing performance we may also see the benefits especially if the demands of the sports take its toll on the body. PED for years now have simply been given a negative stigma without proper justification. I wish to bring light to this matter by presenting certain positions that athletes face in their playing careers and how PED may benefit them. As a philosopher it is important that understand both points of view and the arguments presented. My stand is that professional athletes should be given the chance to take PED. This thesis presents certain ethical theories and how they fit in with certain situations athletes encounter and their application. Hope you enjoy. Thank you!
