Summary:This paper is about observing the different philanthropic activities of GMA Kapuso Foundation and the Insular Life Foundation, about how they have acted beyond being merely business entities, about how these programs have been bridges of hope to those who need it, and about how these programs can be improved. Based on the original research paper by Mr. Habaradas, I took on the challenge of improving the assessment tool he made, and having it answered by respondents from both foundations. Through this I realized that the programs of Insular Life Foundation are carried out with the intention of merely helping out. I also realized that GMA Kapuso Foundation's programs are those that not only help other people, but the programs also help the firm as well. I also realized that the Insular Life Foundation and its mother company, the Insular Life Assurance Co., Ltd., follow a model that depicts two distinct entities, whose activities rarely affect each other. The case is opposite for GMA Kapuso Foundation and its mother company, GMA-7, in which the activities from both organizations affect each other. And based on their responses, I was able to point out that Insular Life Foundation's programs can be improved, while the activities done by GMA Kapuso Foundation serve their purpose greatly. Finally, through the answers given by the respondents, I made my own observations, and comments, regarding the revised assessment tool. Based on their answers, I was able to point out which items in the tool were vague, and had to be revised. Also, I pointed out that the tool was weak in accurately assessing the programs.
