Description
Summary:This project studies the cosmogonies and cosmologies included in Damiana Eugenio's anthology Philippine Folk Literature: The Myths in view of drawing out from such stories ecological insights that may address the current global environmental crisis. It argues that the said crisis is one that stems from consumerist culture and misplaced value systems. The study proposes that consulting old belief systems as expressed through myths handed down to us by our ancestors, can be a strategy towards gaining the needed values people should have in light of the ecological crisis we now face.
