This creative thesis is a collection of five lesbian stories written in Filipino. This collection is an attempt to provide a new perspective in our local lesbian literature by looking into the mind of the young Filipino lesbian. It is also an attempt to start lesbian fiction in Filipino. The collection starts with the story of a young lesbian's first love entitled Princess Bananacue. The story is set in Barangay Almanza where Aling Chari's famous bananacue stands and where our little hero, Candy, also meets her first love. The next story, Static is about a young lesbian's coming out to her peers. In this story, the young lesbian tries to prove to herself that she can handle being a lesbian by facing her coming out head on despite the uncertainties and questions in her head. In Ang Dyornal ni Guia Kho, we follow the story of a young girl who is inexperienced in love and finally confronts her feelings towards her best friend who she was unknowingly in love with. From her peers to her beloved, we now witness the young lesbian coming out to her family through the story of Patricia, a problem-solver, an absorber and the source of comfort of her family, whose only hope was that her family accepts her. Finally, the collection ends with the story of two girls, Natalie and Crystal, both dedicated women, who find questionable happiness with each other but they are hindered because of circumstances concerning other commitments. The story ends with a question for the reader to ponder on. This study also includes an overview of the Philippine lesbian literature, a 'detailed review of related literature both scholarly and literary works, the writer's own lesbian typology and her theory on the short story and lesbian fiction. 2010-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/2412 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Lesbians--Philippines Lesbians' writings Comparative Literature
