Fecal samples obtained from residents in Barangay Santo Domingo, Cainta, Rizal were examined for the presence of Ascaris egg. Samples were randomly selected from different zones in the Barangay. A total of 71 fecal samples retrieved from respondents fixed in formalin and processed using the Formalin Ether Concentration Technique (FECT) revealed infection with A. lumbricoides in 27 (38.0%) respondents. Infection was higher among male (46.4%) respondents compared to female (32.6%) respondents. Infection was 88.9% among children aged ≤ 10 years old. Egg density ranged from rare to abundant with the rare as the most common. Of the 66 slaughtered hogs from Rublou Meat Products and Abattoir facility, only one had ascarid worms. The very low infection rate in slaughtered hogs can be attributed to the excellent sanitary management and immunization given to the hogs. 2009-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/2456 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Biology
