Samples were collected with coordination from the Medical Health Station of Barangay Pantal which was timed with the tri-monthly free check-up provided to the community. A total of 120 fecal samples retrieved from respondents fixed in formalin and processed using the formalin ether concentration technique (FECT). Out of the 120 fecal smears, total infection of 33 (27.5%) intestinal parasites was revealed. Of the 33 infected samples, 28(23.3%) of the samples were of single infection with A. lumbricoides and 2 (1.7%) with T. trichiura, and 3 (2.5%) with mixed infection of A. lumbricoides and T. trichiura. Total infection was higher among male (15.8%) respondents compared to female (11.7%) respondents. Male children among age range of ≤1-3 years old were observed to have highest infection rate 46.0% of Ascaris. Egg density score range from rare to abundant with rare as the most prevalent. All samples were found negative from Cryptosporidium oocysts using modified Ziehl-Neelsen technique. 2009-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/2459 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Biology
