A total of 100 high school students were included in the study involving the determination and comparison of blood glucose concentration. The population consisted of 50 students from Cabiao National High School in Nueva Ecija and 50 from Pedro E. Diaz High School in Muntinlupa city.. The results of the blood glucose concentration showed that the mean level for Nueva Ecija students was 76.3 mg/dl (±8.30875) with a range of 58-108.7 mg/dl while the blood glucose concentration for Muntinlupa students was 95.8 (±8.49415) with the range of 76.0 - 111.0 mg/dL. Therefore, it can be concluded that there was an observed and statistically significant serum glucose level difference (t=11.613, p=0.000<0.05) present among the students living in the two areas concerned. However, between the serum levels and age, gender and BMI classes, variable interaction was not observed, which means that there was no interaction effect between the demographic variables. The conducted survey suggested that other alternative factors might have affected the blood glucose concentration of the students, such as diet and lifestyle, among others. In the diet, the number of times they eat inside their homes, food choices and the frequency of junk food and soft drinks intake were considered as factors. In the lifestyle, the physical activities undertaken by students were included. However, the survey just gave an idea of these factors and did not disclose the fact that there are still other factors which affect the serum glucose levels of the students in the said study sites. 2011-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/2485 Bachelor's Theses Animo Repository
