This paper is a critical analysis of Nice Rodriguez' work Throw it to the River. Rodriguez' work is aimed to be deconstructed by using Julia Penelope's theories to determine if her work is truly a lesbian text. Only three of Rodriguez' stories will be analyzed determine whether it is deconstructed or reinstates Penelope's theories. To determine whether a text is lesbian does not only entail it to be written by a lesbian, a writing about lesbians, or a writing that expresses a lesbian vision. It is one that should undergo a criteria that is lesbian oriented and lesbian inspired. In this case, Julia Penelope's lesbian theories served as a basis of criterion as she herself is a lesbian critic expressing a lesbian vision.
