His recollection is very detailed, especially when it comes to the violence and destruction that the Japanese had done onto the Filipino people. He writes about specific events that he remembered and these certain events that he chooses gives the reader an idea on how Garcia sat the war. Based on how and what he decided to write about, the reader can read Garcia how he experienced the war. Using Erich Fromms theories on violence, aggression and destruction from is book entitled The Anatomy of Human Destructiveness, I will analyze the events of history based on how Garcia re-tells his experience. The memoir is decided from Garcias point of view, however, using Fromms theories, I will try to read deeper into what happened during the Japanese occupation. 2010-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/2524 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Philippines--History--Japanese occupation 1942-1945 Aggressiveness Violence Comparative Literature |
