Summary: | Projection mapping has been done statically on moving objects and has managed to project dynamic animation on stationary objects, but never both at once. The research focuses on the creation of dynamic interactive projection mapping system for projecting 3D images onto mobile humans, to be presented through a prototype. The prototype utilizes a camera and a projector to track the motion and position of human and calibrates the camera and the display image according to the position of the human. Calibration of the projector and the image will be done dynamically through motion detection. The motion capture aspect will utilize the Kinect camera sensor to detect the user's movements. The projection mapping aspect will use a 3D model for image mapping and will incorporate image processing in order to detect the dimensions of the human. The projector used will be a typical projector similar to those found in classrooms. The product of the research will benefit students and fellow researchers in the field of graphics and human-computer interaction, as well as have applications in the advertising and entertainment industry. |
