Saving the moon eater is an undergraduate creative writing thesis in fiction comprising of 7 short stories. Each story would feature one child, between the ages of 8 to 12 years old. They would experience traumatic times in their lives that unfortunately result in stripping away of their innocence. Each story would begin with a short letter from Thea, the woman who would appear in all the stories. These letters are meant for her sister, Luna, where she recounts how she meets the children and her attempts at saving them. The purpose of these letters is to hint that Thea has a reason for saving these children. The setting would be a fantastical, modern day Manila, wherein lower creatures from Philippine mythology live among the humans. The stories are all connected, but can still be read individually.
