The life of a preschool teacher is complex, demanding and at times, heart breaking. A teacher's role does not only include instructional responsibilities, it also extends to being a second parent. Little attention is paid to how stress and motivation affects the emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual life of a teacher. This study investigated the differences and similarities of the different factors affecting stress and motivation, and the strategies preschool teachers use to alleviate stress, in both big schools and small schools. This study also identified how preschool teachers from Muntinlupa view stress, beneficial or detrimental. In this light, an interview-questionnaire was conducted for participant small and big schools. The interview is used as the primary instrument for this research, a questionnaire is used for the purpose of cross validation. The results indicated that both big and small schools do not view poor time management, job dissatisfaction, and relationship with students as source of stress. The study also revealed that unnecessary meetings, and meeting the high expectations of parents are definite causes of stress in the preschool teaching profession. Furthermore, they have similar views on motivational factors and strategies to alleviate teacher stress. It is recommended that replication of the study may be conducted in other parts of Metro Manila such as Paranaque, Makati, and Quezon City. 2007-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/2939 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Preschool teachers--Philippines--Muntinlupa City Preschool teaching--Philippines--Muntinlupa city Education
