Clear eyes, city lights is a collection of four short stories including a prologue, with a maximum of around six thousand words each. It follows a young Filipino girl named Cinna Cabasa who is about to undergo the final stages of her training as a Babaylan of her family. Clear eyes, city lights becomes a short stories of Cinna's encounters with legendary beings from her quiet hometown in Manila, to the temples in Kyoto, past the mangroves of Palawan, to the urban city life of Singapore, and back again. The short story collection could hopefully blend fantasy, and travel narratives together. It becomes a collection of Cinna's recounts of the fantastical beings she has met and see as she travels around the world. In each story, Cinna learns something about the world and herself with elements of a coming-of-age story as the reader follows Cinna to her maturity. 2018-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/2945 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Short stories Philippine (English) Philippine fiction (English) Young adult fiction Philippine (English) Short stories--Women authors Comparative Literature
