This photo essay will showcase how the subjects are able to fully express themselves and how drag did or did not influence them to what they identify as. Moreover, it is a representation of the world we currently live in the struggle of each to live every day. In the morning, they have a different person, but at night, they transform and escape the harsh realities they have to live in. moreover, this photo essay will highlight two drag performers who come from opposite spectrums of life. Ian Jarigue or Mrs. Tan, 20, lives and studies in UP Village and UP Diliman, respectively. He performs drag for political reasons. He wants to educate the mass through her unique song choices original Pilipino music and folk songs. Meanwhile, Jose Romines Jr. or Neneng Bagsik, 41, has spent majority of his life living in San Roque, Navotas City. He performs drag to have the means of supporting his two children and sustain their everyday needs. Together, lets see how they transform this is Metamorphosis: the transformative art of drag.
