總結:The locus of control of 9 to 12 year old institutionalized children of Nayon ng Kabataan in relation to sex and self-esteem was investigated. Forty-three children, twenty-two males and twenty-one females were given two tests - Desirable-Undesirable Events - Locus of Control (DUE-LOC) to determine their locus of control and the Coppersmith Self-esteem Inventory (SEI) to determine their level of self-esteem. With the use of Pearson Product-Moment Correlation Coefficient, results showed that there was no significant relationship between locus of control and sex, as well as between locus of control and self-esteem. Fifty-eight percent of the subjects have an internal locus of control while the remaining 42 percent have an external locus of control. Sixty-seven percent have a medium self-esteem, 21 percent have a low self-esteem and 12 percent have a high esteem.
