Wing venation patterns of six different genera of mosquitoes (family culicidae) collected from Pulilan, Bulacan, Quezon City, Navotas, Metro Manila, Makati, Metro Manila and Antipolo Rizal

This study focused on the 59 specimens of mosquitoes collected from Pulilan, Bulacan, Quezon City, Navotas, Metro Manila, Makati, Metro Manila and Antipolo, Rizal. Out of the 59 specimens 35 or 59 percent of which is Culex, 20 or 34 percent belongs to Aedes, and 7 percent belongs to Anopheles, Amigeres, Hodgesia, and Zeugnomyia each having a single representative. There is a distinct difference between the six genera of mosquitoes in terms of color, longitudinal veins and crossveins, and scales. Though wing venation is one criterion in identifying the genera of mosquitoes, it cannot solely be used.
