Bayaua, Rica Arlene F. The macrobenthic algae from the shorelines of Barrio Dayumaca, Sual, Pangasinan were collected, preserved, identified and classified on the basis of gross morphology. Of the thirty-four (34) species of macrobenthic algae that were collected, six (6) belong to Class Chlorophyceae, thirteen (13) belong to Class Rhodophyceae and fifteen (15) belong to Class Phaeophyceae. Sixteen (16) of the thirty-four (34) species are economically important to man. Water temperature ranges from 30C-34C pH ranges from 7.8-8.3 while wave action was moderately strong. Nitrate and phosphate content (mg/L) of the water samples was low which was probably due to the uptake of these nutrients by the plants. Salinity ranges from 15ppt-25ppt which was low and could be possibly due to the infusion of freshwater from rivermouths. Sargassum polycystum is the most abundant species, with a value of 22,200, compared to the other species collected. Sargassum ilicifolium is more or less uniformly distributed, with a value of 9.93 throughout the different areas studied. 1993-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/3908 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Marine algae--Morphology Marine algae--Philippines--Pangasinan Biology
