Summary:Fern collection was done by obtaining samples of fertile ferns from different areas in San Jose, Batangas for a period of three months, i.e., July, October, 1992 and January, 1993.Identification of collected ferns were based on its rhizome, frond, stipe, lamina, pinna, sori and in some cases on its rachis, pinnules, veins and habitat.Collected specimens were found to belong to one division, one class, nine families, fourteen genera and twenty species. Family Aspleniaceae was represented by Tectaria dissecta Family Athyriaceae by Diplazium esculentum and D. asperum Family Oleandroideae by Nephrolepis exaltata Family Polypodiaceae by Drynaria descensa Family Pteridaceae by Pteris mutilata, and P. longipes var. philippense Family Schizaceae by Lygodium flexuosum and L. japonicum Family Sinopteridaceae by Pityrogramma calomelanos, Adiantum caudatum, A. philippense and A. soboliferum Family Thelypteridaceae by Christella dentata, Macrothelypteris torresiana, Pneumatopteris ligulata, P. microloncha, Amphineuron terminanse and Sphaerostephanos productus and finally, Family Lomariopsidaceae by Bolbitis rhizophylla.
