Description
Summary:Two experiments were conducted to determine the effects of an air freshener on an ornamental plant. Aglaonema commutatum S.. One experiment involved exposure to different duration of spraying, i.e., 10, 20, and 30 seconds. Another experiment involved exposure of the same plant species to the same air freshener at different distances of spraying, i.e., 30, 60 and 90 cm. from the tip of the plant. Results showed that there was a significant decrease in the chlorophyll and protein content of plants exposed at different distances. However, the decrease was not significant. Stomatal measurements treated at different duration of spraying showed a significant decrease both in its width and length. Only the stomatal width was significantly affected in plants exposed at different duration of spraying. Water samples where the plants were grown showed a decrease in phosphate content for both experiments.
