It also attempted to determine the reactions of adolescents towards the name given to them aside from their real name. Reasons of adolescents for calling other people names were also explored.A total of 100 adolescents participated in the study, 50 adolescents from 3 public first year and second year high schools and 50 adolescents from 3 private first year and second year high school. The researchers used an interview guide based on the needed data for the study. For the public school the researchers went to the Superintendent City Schools of Manila to get a permit for the interviews in the public schools, however, for the private schools permission were asked directly from the principal.Frequency counting was used to analyzed the data gathered from the adolescents. Results showed that the origins of name calling were mostly from the physical aspects, particularly the weight and the behavioral aspect. The sources of name calling were mostly the schoolmates and friends of adolescents. The reactions of adolescents toward the name calling were mostly neutral and negative. As for the reasons why adolescents name other people names is because many of them just do it for fun or they see it in that person. The major origins were physical aspects and behavioral aspects because these aspects could be easily be seen or is very visible unlike other origins. The schoolmates and friends of the adolescents were the most common sources of name calling since they are most frequently together. 1995-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/3744 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Invective Names Teasing High school students--Psychology |
