Summary:A three month study period was done for the morpho-taxonomy of macrobenthic algae in the intertidal zone of the mangrove area of Talin Bay. A total of 9 species were collected, preserved, identified and classified into 3 divisions, 3 classes, 4 orders, 5 families and 5 genera, based on their morphological characteristics. Frequency, relative frequency and relative abundance of the species were computed. The most abundant and widely distributed species was found to be Halimeda opuntia.
