Convicted rapists' attributions of rape, and beliefs regarding female sexuality

A descriptive study on convicted rapists' attribution of the crime and their beliefs regarding female sexuality. Six convicted rapists from the National Bilibid Prison Maximum Security were interviewed. A questionnaire used as a guide for the interview was prepared and approved by a psychology professor. The responses of the convicted rapists were looked into using content analysis and cross cases analysis, to see what processes were involved in their attribution and what is common from the cases presented. It was found that the attribution rapists have of the crime are always external to them and that their beliefs regarding female sexuality can be used as an attribution.
