Castro, Anne Marie B. The Intramuros Administration (IA) is the body governing the preservation, development and promotion of the Walled City. It is directly under the Department of Tourism. Upon immersion within the organization the proponents found out that there are some sites within Intramuros that are not being frequented. These are the age-old baluartes and puertas which may also be used as function areas. In response to this communication need, the proponents have come up with a twelve-page booklet featuring these sites. A puerta poster and a baluarte poster were also conceived. Besides these, the proponents have come up with a two-fold Intramuros Visitors Center (IVC) brochure and its respective poster. The IVC is a newly created arm of the IA. It caters to visitors' needs and is responsible for updates on activities within Intramuros. The IVC is housed in the restored chambers of the Baluartillo de San Francisco Javier. Hence it is a very good example of the functional use of a landmark, which is being advocated both by the IA and UNESCO's World Heritage Theme. The proponents proposed that this package should be directly mailed to establishments such as schools, cultural centers, hotels, production houses, theatre companies and the like. Nevertheless, each component of the package may act as a stand-alone material to be placed in the IVC. Since the IA at present, has no budget to print this thesis, the proponents solicited funds from Duty Free, Asia Brewery, Golden Pyramid Trading Resources, Yslas y Cia., BPI Foundation and Mr. Elmer Lorica. Kwikprint, a printing press, was also tapped as a sponsor. Hence the printing of this thesis was for free. 1995-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/4088 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Intramuros (Manila : Philippines)--Promotions Historic sites--Philippines--Manila--Promotions Communication
