Summary: | A total of eighty (80) bacterial isolates were screened for their antimicrobial activity. Forty (40) of these isolates came from the gazebo area and the remaining forty (40) were obtained from the Agno house area. A total of 18 out of 80 isolates showed antimicrobial activity against the four test microorganisms namely Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli and Candida albicans. Screening for antimicrobial properties was done using disc agar diffusion method. All of the isolates were described in terms of their colonial and microscopic morphologies. |
