Summary: | E.S.I.C.A.I. is an intelligent Computer-aided instruction (ICAI) that will cater particularly to grade six and first year high school students who have Earth Science as part of their curriculum. It would include topics that deal with the planet Earth in particular like the Earth's composition (i.e. its layers, rocks, and minerals that make up these layers), the changing surface of the Earth (i.e. its features, forces that change and wear away its surface), the atmosphere of the Earth (i.e. weather and meteorology), theories on the origin of the solar system and other topics comprising Earth Science. The software will be designed to benefit not only the students but also the teachers who would be monitoring and evaluating the performance of each student using the system. The software will simulate student-teacher interaction wherein the user can ask any question regarding the subject matter. Other features of the software include the ability to provide lessons in varying degrees (i.e. the student cannot go to the next lesson unless he truly understands the present lesson). This can be done by tests given after every lesson. Illustration, glossary, and options menu are some of the added features. |
