This study focuses on the production processes involved in the manufacture of the ice bag starting from the mixing of the raw materials up to the packing operation. From evaluations conducted by the group, it was determined that the main problem is excess scraps are produced at the sealing & cutting section of the plant, amounting to P 74,760.02 during 1999. Excess scraps are defined as scraps in excess of the two kilograms per machine per day standard set by the company.";"A critical evaluation revealed that the main contributor to this problem are attributed to the machine. Specifically, scraps are produced by the dirty or worn teflon tape covering of the sealing & cutting machine's sealing unit and the poor loading of the plastic sheets into the machine due to the dirty rollers and passageways. In order to eliminate the problem of excess scrap produced at the sealing & cutting section, a preventive maintenance system is proposed. Upon proper implementation and monitoring, it eliminates the amount of scrap produced to the acceptable level. In addition, a Net Present Value (NPV) of P 1,002,702.30 in net benefits is gained from the proposed solution. 2000-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/4341 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Production control Industrial Engineering
