Primary, this study concentrated on the topic of culture focusing on the music and art, language and education, belief and custom, religion and philosophy, and literature. Data gathering was limited to only four high standard universities-University of the Philippines, Diliman, Ateneo de Manila, University of De La Salle University, and University of Santo Tomas. It tended to find out how far have the Filipino students done on each area of Japanese culture. The researchers employed both the descriptive-analytical and descriptive-statistical approach since this work required a description and analyzation of the studies of Filipino students on Japanese culture. Check list was used to gather the data on Filipino students' studies on the culture of Japan. The result came out in such a way that with all the four universities, De La Salle University should only be considered the leading school who's having more concrete principles to the introduction of Japan because it offers Japanese studies under International Studies as a major course for undergraduate program. Aside from Japanese language (Nihongo), De La Salle University also offer related subject of Japan like Japanese Culture (JAPACUL) that clarifies the way of living of the people and the value system of Japanese. With the effect, De La Salle students develop a wide range of achievement in Japanese culture. With regards to the findings, the researchers concluded that the other three universities need improvements. Although they have some programs offered to enhance the learning process of the students and to give them a better understanding of Japanese culture as a whole. Throughout the whole study, the researchers would like to recommend that since Japan almost occupied the leading places in Asia, therefore, it is important to know more about our neighboring countries. 1995-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/4217 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Japan--Study and teaching--Philippines Asian Studies Japanese Studies |
